Framing – Day 1 Videos

The first day of framing was probably more productive than any day I’ve ever seen on a jobsite (and I’ve spent a LOT of days on construction sites). The crew started before 7:00am, and the steel beams were in place by 7:45am. By 9:00am, the floor joists were in place, and by noon, the exterior of the first floor was framed. By the end of the day, the interior of the first floor was framed, most of the basement was framed, the garage was framed, and we had even made several on-the-fly framing design changes based on what we saw.

Tomorrow, we expect the second floor to go up. Thursday will be a day off (the crew has to finish another job), and weather permitting, the roof will go on on Friday. The roof will be finished on Saturday, and next Monday they get the stairs in and start on the back deck/porch.

I’m a witness to this. The framing crew was not only talented but organized & prepared.
