Part 13: The Bright Side
The Abbreviated Version: There’s no way around it… the fact that we’re changing the orientation of the house as it currently sits — from diagonal on the lot to parallel with the street– puts us at over 5,000 square feet of disturbance. To be entirely honest, this completely sucks. Now we need to do a site development plan and environmental concept plan before we can even submit for permits… which means a lot more money and a LOT more time.
But let’s look at the bright side – now we’re free of all the constraints prohibiting us from developing the perfect house design. We’ll find a way to deal with the incredibly annoying extra 6 months to end up with an awesome house we’ll live in for the next 20 years. How’s that for making lemonade?!?
