The Abbreviated Version: So what if i’ve never designed a house before? How hard could it possibly be?!? While waiting for a reply from the seller regarding our initial offer, we went ahead and drew a (in retrospect, kind of entirely ridiculous!) first draft of our 26-foot deep floor plan. Ha! Take that, you evil building envelope!Going back and forth with counteroffers, we did a lot of waiting. And more waiting. And did i mention waiting?

But that waiting worked out in our favor: we received some awesome news from the Director of Planning and Zoning, which led us to snap up this property before we missed out on this now-potentially-superfabulous opportunity.
